Heartland
The Heartland Reading Committee was established by the Writing Conference, Inc. in 1996. The goal of the Heartland Reading Committee is to develop life-long readers through the use of current middle-grade and young adult literature.
Each spring, nominations of middle-grade and young adult literature are solicited from teachers and librarians for consideration for the Heartland Books Recommendation. Those nominated books must be currently in print and have been published in the past 3 years.
Nominations may be emailed to: thewritingconference@gmail.com
before February 1 of the current year:
The Heartland Reading Committee will meet in August to discuss the nominations and to announce our Top 10 List of Recommended Books to promote throughout the year.
